urge of the soul

Is your soul urging you to live your life purpose?

People from all walks of life share an instinctive urge to find meaning, direction and purpose.  Knowing and living your life purpose is as important to your psychological growth as healthy eating is to your biological survival.

Although many of us don’t consciously recognize that we have a life purpose, our subconscious knows what we were born to do in this lifetime.  Our subconscious reaches out to us, sending messages through our dreams, intuition and innermost longings.  The call of our destiny manifests itself as our deepest desires and our strongest abilities.  These messages shape our career and our relationships and influence the quality and direction of our life.

You were born with a purpose and unique spiritual gifts.  You have the free well to use these gifts as you choose. Do you know what your spiritual gifts are?  Are you using them fully?

Until we recognize and live in harmony with our underlying purpose, our life may feel like a puzzle with missing pieces.  We may sense that there is something we are here to do but we may not be able to grasp exactly what that something is.  You may continue to work, earn money and experience joy and pain; but the recognition of your purpose may continue to elude you.  Deep down you may feel like something is missing or a deep urge to make a life change.

How do you know if your soul is urging you to live your purpose?

Most people start searching for their purpose when they are experiencing some level of discomfort in life.  It can be financial, emotional or physical discomfort. It may even be a challenging relationship or a tragedy that is causing you discomfort.  You know your soul is urging you when your life is in mild or extreme chaos and something compels you to say, “Why am I here? What is my purpose? How can I be happier?”  Your soul is sending you messages via these challenges to encourage you to take a look at your life, slow down, connect with your higher power and get in alignment with your soul’s purpose.  You can only ignore these messages for so long.  For example, if you get thirsty you have to drink.  If you are tired you need to sleep. If you are hungry, you will eventually be forced to eat.  You may be able to ignore your thirst, hunger and fatigue for a time, but soon your body will become weak, exhausted and dehydrated and you will succumb to the need to take care of your body.  Just as we need food, water and rest for our survival, we need to feed the soul as well.  Your soul doesn’t have the same limitations as your physical body, but as physical beings, we can only ignore being hungry for our soul’s path for a limited time.  If we continue to ignore the urging of the soul to live our purpose; fulfillment, joy, happiness, peace and prosperity will continue to elude us.
